Our Agency History
The Greg Nulty Agency was started in 1945 by John Gregory Nulty, better known as Greggor, and was located at 332 E. Allegan Street in Otsego. The year began with Greg selling real estate and then later becoming licensed with Aetna. He specialized in farm and dwelling related products.
In 1956, the agency and Greg's family moved to our current Otsego location of 354 W. Allegan Street. The agency took about 600 square feet on the east end of the building, while the family lived in the remaining part. Three years later, Greg's daughter Jacque Drobny came to the agency to service clients and handle the accounting.
Daniel Gregory Nulty joined his father and sister in 1967. Over the next 12 years, the business continued to grow. Greg became more focused on the real estate portion of the business while Dan focused on insurance. 1979 was a pivotal year for The Nulty Agency. Greg and his wife, Maureen, moved into a new home. The business had grown so much that the entire building was remodeled for our use. Greggor also retired during this time, although he still continues to sell real estate whenever he is in Michigan.
In 1991, Dana Maria Nulty-Beals began working with the agency. She was able to further the agencies use of our automation system. Three years later, she and Dan began an aggressive search to open a branch office in Kalamazoo. After many ideas and options, the location at 5579 Stadium Drive became the answer and construction began.
In 1995, the Kalamazoo branch of The Nulty Agency opened for business. Then, in 1998, T. Gregory Nulty joined the firm in commercial sales.
This agency continues to grow - not only in size and service, but in quality and expertise as well. The Nulty Agency is a sales organization that provides outstanding service.
